If you are here, fantastic! Being concerned about your privacy is important in our present world.

Below you’ll find the privacy policy for this website in layman terms that you and I can both understand, so we are both on the same page. It exists to give you an understanding of what information is collected, how it is used, and to help protect your information. Only information that is necessary to provide services is collected from you.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: Privacy Policy. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment. We try to avoid using Gravatar wherever possible on the site, but in some places it may be inevitable.

TLDR: Some information is collected to make sure you aren’t a robot or something.

Forums

When you register for the forums, your IP address is collected in order to assist with spam detection and verification of the user. A cookie is also placed in order to keep you logged in to the forums. This cookie is independent of the login cookie to the main site and will only be in effect on the forum.

Please note that your account created on the forums is entirely independent from your account handled on the main site.

Registering on Main Site

When you register for the main site, you can either choose to register for an account directly with the site, or login using your Twitch account information. If you register directly with the site, your information is directly handled here. When you log in using your Twitch account, some basic account information is requested via their API in order to automatically create an account for you here. Logins are processed by OneAll, a Social network integration service, who authenticates you via Twitch and authorizes you to login here. You can read Twitch’s Privacy Policy here, and you can review how OneAll processes your data here.

TLDR: Some services work together with this site in order to register and log you into the site.

Media

If you upload images to the forums or website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

TLDR: Don’t put your address in images.

Contact forms and Zenny Redeems

When you submit a zenny store or other equivalent request, some data is necessary in order to be able to process that request. The data sent includes:

  • The email you used when you signed up. This helps facilitate redeems you submit and also provides you the option to receive notifications when they are completed.
  • The User ID you provided when you signed up for the site. I need to know who you are in order to process these requests.
  • Your IP Address may be sent with some requests. This helps facilitate spam detection in the event your account is compromised.

This personal data collected only remains for the duration of your request. After the request is processed, it is promptly deleted. None of the information submitted is ever used for marketing purposes.

TLDR: I need to know who you are to process your requests.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on the site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year, and you have the choice of rejecting them.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

If you login via Twitch, Twitch will place cookies to facilitate your login to your account in subsequent logins. Refer to Twitch’s privacy policy for more information.

TDLR: I need to know who you are in order to save certain options.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

TLDR: Other sites can peep at you and I can’t do anything about it.

Analytics

No analytics are collected directly by the site; however, some anonymous analytics data may be collected by the hosting provider Bluehost. Refer to their privacy policy for more information.

In the event analytics are collected by the site, you can opt out by sending me an email with your account details via the Contact form.

Who we share your data with

Data is shared to Twitch when you request to link your site account to theirs. Here is their privacy policy.

Data is shared to OneAll whenever you register or login to the main site via your Twitch account. Read their policies here.

If you submit a tip via PayPal, some information is requested by them in order to process it. Here is their privacy policy.

If you submit a tip via Streamlabs, some information is requested by them to identify who you are and for fraud detection purposes. Here is their privacy policy.

Yup, thats it.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

If you submit a reward, extension, or other request, the data collected is retained only until the request is processed.

We store the personal information users provide in their user profile when they sign up for the site. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except for changing their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
